Quick Tip: An Introduction to Light-Mapping in UDK
“Light-mapping for the Unreal Engine used to be an extremely tedious process, as it could only be prepared in an external program such as Max or Maya. Well, thankfully there is a solution! In the first of our Unreal Dev Kit tutorials, Jarlan Perez walks us through how to first prepare a model, and then setup light-mapping entirely within the UDK itself.”

Quick Tip: Creating Compound Curve Icons in Maya
“In this quicktip tutorial, we’ll walk through one way to create complex NURBS-based icons in Maya. Useful control icons can make or break a good rig, and are essential when creating in-interface GUIs. Putting together simple, one-piece shapes are easy, but making compound icons can be much more difficult. One method for combining multiple curves is to parent them under a single transform node. We’ll first do this by hand, and then look at an easy MEL script that automates the process.”

Quick Tip : Modelling and Rendering a Pillow in C4D
“In this quick-tip tutorial we’ll be taking a look at the techniques required to model a basic pillow/cushion object in Cinema 4D. After applying a simple material, we’ll then investigate using Maxon’s “Advanced Render” system to add a depth of field (DOF) effect to our final render. For anyone doing arch-vis interiors in C4D this tutorial is a must see!”
